Pranav Mohanlal’s acclaimed horror thriller Dies Irae is set to begin streaming on JioHotstar on December 5, the platform announced on Friday. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the film released in theatres on October 31 and emerged a strong box-office success, grossing over ₹75 crore worldwide.
Dies Irae marks Rahul’s fourth consecutive horror venture after Red Rain, Bhoothakaalam, and the widely praised Bramayugam. The story follows an affluent young man (Pranav Mohanlal) who becomes the target of terrifying supernatural forces inside his sprawling mansion. Jibin Gopinath plays a key supporting role, with Arun Ajikumar, Jaya Kurup, Sushmita Bhat, Manohari Joy, and Swathi Das Prabhu rounding out the ensemble cast.
The film opened to overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning praise for its gripping atmosphere, precise direction, and exceptional technical finesse. The core technical team—cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, editor Shafique Mohammed Ali, composer Christo Xavier, and production designer Jothish Shankar—all frequent collaborators of Rahul, were widely celebrated for elevating the film’s eerie mood.
Dies Irae is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth for Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, marking their second collaboration with Rahul Sadasivan after the success of Bramayugam.
