Pranav Mohanlal’s ‘Dies Irae’ Set for Halloween Release After Censor Clearance

Pranav Mohanlal’s upcoming horror thriller Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has officially cleared censor formalities with an A certificate and is set to hit theatres on October 31, coinciding with Halloween.

The film’s title, Dies Irae — Latin for “Day of Wrath” — originates from a hymn symbolizing judgment and mortality. Staying true to his signature genre, this marks Rahul Sadasivan’s fourth consecutive horror outing, following Red Rain, Bhoothakaalam, and Bramayugam.

Based on “true events,” Dies Irae also features Jibin Gopinath and Manohari Joy in key roles. The project reunites Rahul with the core technical crew of Bramayugam — cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, music composer Christo Xavier, production designer Jothish Shankar, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.

Jointly produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, the film promises a chilling cinematic experience for horror lovers.
