Patriot Women’s Day Poster Unveils Revathy; Theatre Dispute Clouds Release

The makers of Patriot unveiled a special Women’s Day poster featuring Revathy, highlighting her role in the much-anticipated Malayalam film. The poster also reaffirmed the movie’s global theatrical release date of April 23, 2026.

Director Mahesh Narayanan shared the new poster on social media, writing, “Revathi in Patriot. In cinemas worldwide from April 23, 2026.” The announcement further builds anticipation for the big-budget espionage thriller.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Mammootty and Mohanlal, with Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban playing key roles.

However, the film’s theatrical run in Kerala may face hurdles due to an ongoing dispute between producers and theatre owners. The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) has reportedly opposed screening the film in theatres under its control.

The disagreement centres around the revenue-sharing model. According to exhibitors, Malayalam films typically follow a 60:40 share in the first week, which shifts to 55:45 in the second week. Theatre representatives claim that the producer’s demand to maintain the 60:40 ratio for the first two weeks is difficult to accept, especially at a time when many theatres are facing financial strain.

Producer Anto Joseph has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that discussions are ongoing with industry bodies, including the Kerala Film Producers Association, to reach a mutually acceptable solution.

Despite the uncertainty, Patriot remains officially scheduled for its worldwide premiere on April 23, with the team hoping to resolve the theatre dispute before release.
