Mohanlal’s upcoming family drama Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, amps up the Onam spirit with its new lyrical track Venmathi. Composed by Justin Prabhakaran and sung by Sid Sriram, the soulful song is winning hearts as fans hail it an “Onam gift.” With its teaser already trending, the film releases on August 28, 2025.

Mohanlal’s much-awaited family drama Hridayapoorvam, directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, is building strong momentum as Onam approaches. Adding to the excitement, the makers recently unveiled the lyrical video of the melodious track Venmathi. Composed by Justin Prabhakaran and soulfully sung by Sid Sriram, the song carries a soothing festive vibe. Lyricist Manu Manjith’s heartfelt words, paired with simple yet striking visuals, enhance its charm, while an a cappella portion by Shibi Srinivasan and backing vocals from Feji, Indu Sanath, Devu Mathew, and Gayathry Rajiv add a refreshing touch.

The timing of the song’s release has amplified the hype, arriving just days before the film’s Onam 2025 premiere. Mohanlal himself shared the track on social media with the caption, “#Hridayapoorvam lyrical video #Venmathi out now!”, while the production house added, “Good things take time… and this one’s straight from the heart.” Fans quickly embraced Venmathi as an “Onam gift,” flooding the comments with praise. From hoping Mohanlal delivers a “hattrick blockbuster” to lauding Justin Prabhakaran’s underrated genius, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Beyond its music, Hridayapoorvam has already generated buzz with a teaser that showcased Sathyan Anthikad’s signature humor. In one standout scene, Mohanlal is seen in a witty exchange with a non-Malayali fan of Fahadh Faasil, blending situational comedy with cultural quirks. With a strong supporting cast including Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Siddique, Sangita, Lalu Alex, and Baburaj, the film promises to be a perfect festive entertainer when it hits theatres on August 28, 2025.
