Mohanlal Confirms ‘Patriot’ with Mammootty – Malayalam Cinema’s Biggest Collab in 16 Years

Malayalam cinema is witnessing its biggest collaboration in over a decade with Patriot, a mega-budget thriller that reunites superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty after nearly 16 years. Confirming the film’s title during a media interaction in Sri Lanka, where he's currently shooting, Mohanlal shared, “We are doing a very big film. The name of the movie is called Patriot.”

Buzz intensified when a fan page on X shared what is believed to be the film's official synopsis. The story centers on a retired JAG officer who is falsely accused of espionage by a vengeful enemy. As a national manhunt unfolds, an old ally steps in, leading to a covert mission to unearth the truth and prevent a betrayal that could endanger the nation.

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan—acclaimed for Take Off, CU Soon, and Malik—Patriot boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring not only Mohanlal and Mammootty, but also Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban.
