Mammootty’s Health Rumours Clarified: Actor Recovering from Minor Ailment, Confirms John Brittas

Malayalam megastar Mammootty is recovering from a minor health complication, putting to rest the wave of rumours that had taken over social media in recent days. The unverified claims, some even suggesting a serious illness like cancer, sparked concern among fans and well-wishers across the country. However, Rajya Sabha MP and Mammootty’s close friend, John Brittas, has now offered a clear and reassuring update. Speaking to Reporter TV, Brittas confirmed that while Mammootty is undergoing treatment, there is absolutely no cause for alarm. He said, “Mammootty is suffering from a minor health complication and is currently receiving treatment. He is okay, and I just had a phone conversation with him.” Brittas, who shares a long-standing friendship with the actor, also noted that while they generally avoided discussing personal matters, they had been sharing such details in recent days, reflecting the depth of their bond.

Even before Brittas’s statement, Mammootty’s team had dismissed the cancer rumours as fake news. They categorically stated that the megastar is doing fine and will return to work soon. The veteran actor, who remains one of the most active and respected names in Indian cinema, is set to join the sets of a much-anticipated film directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film is significant not just because of the director’s reputation, but also because it brings together two of Malayalam cinema’s biggest names—Mammootty and Mohanlal.

On the professional front, Mammootty was last seen in 'Bazooka', a techno-thriller directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, and more recently appeared in Gautham Vasudev Menon's film 'Dominic and the Ladies' Purse'.
