Mammootty’s Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse Sets OTT Premiere on ZEE5

Nearly eleven months after its theatrical debut, Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, starring Mammootty, is finally gearing up for its digital release. The Malayalam thriller will begin streaming on ZEE5 from December 19.

Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in his Malayalam debut, the film follows private detective Dominic—played by Mammootty—and his assistant, portrayed by Gokul Suresh, as they investigate a missing-person case. The cast also includes Sushmitha Bhat, Viji Venkatesh, Vineeth, and Vijay Babu.

Though the film received mixed reviews and saw a modest theatrical run, Mammootty’s quirky detective act earned appreciation. Menon had earlier hinted at developing a detective franchise led by Dominic, though no further updates have emerged.

Ahead of the OTT release, Gautham Menon shared his excitement, calling the film a dream project and praising the team for completing it in just 45 days. He added that ZEE5’s Malayalam release will help the film reach a wider audience.

Scripted by Gautham Menon along with Neeraj and Sooraj Rajan, the film is produced by Mammootty Kampany.

Meanwhile, Mammootty’s Kalamkaval continues its strong box-office performance, crossing ₹50 crore worldwide. The actor is currently shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s spy thriller Patriot, which also stars Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara.
