Kathanar Trailer Unveils a Grand Mythical Spectacle

The trailer of Kathanar, starring Jayasurya, has been unveiled, offering a visually rich and ambitious reimagining of the legendary tales of Kadamattathu Kathanar—a priest believed to possess supernatural powers.

Directed by Rojin Thomas, the film steps away from earlier adaptations and presents a fresh, large-scale fantasy interpretation, blending mythology with cutting-edge visual storytelling. The trailer hints at an expansive cinematic world rarely seen in Malayalam cinema.

Joining Jayasurya is Anushka Shetty in a pivotal role, alongside a strong supporting cast that includes Prabhu Deva, Harish Uthaman, Vineeth, Devika Sanjay and Nitish Bharadwaj.

The screenplay is co-written by Rojin Thomas and R Ramanand, with Rojin also handling editing and VFX direction—indicating a strong creative control over the film’s visual identity.
