‘Janaki V vs State Of Kerala’ trailer teases a gripping courtroom drama led by Anupama Parameswaran and Suresh Gopi. Set to release on July 17 after a legal battle with the CBFC, the film follows Janaki’s fight for justice. Suresh Gopi’s fierce advocate role brings back nostalgic ‘vintage SG’ vibes.

With the release of Janaki V vs State Of Kerala just around the corner, the much-awaited trailer has finally arrived—igniting fresh buzz across Malayalam cinema circles. The courtroom drama, starring Anupama Parameswaran and Suresh Gopi, hits theatres on Thursday, July 17, following a contentious censorship battle.

The trailer begins on a light, cheerful note, showing Janaki (Anupama) enjoying life surrounded by friends. But that tone quickly changes, revealing a darker, more intense narrative. As Janaki’s life spirals due to a traumatic incident, she maintains her strength and dignity, calmly asserting, “I have nothing to hide.”

Enter Suresh Gopi as Advocate David—a fiery courtroom crusader who brings vintage SG energy to the screen. His powerful delivery of the line, “Janaki must get justice at any cost,” instantly recalls his iconic roles in films like Chinthamani Kolacase. The trailer builds to a dramatic crescendo, suggesting that this film might be Mollywood’s answer to Pink.

Audiences online were quick to react, calling it a return to Suresh Gopi’s classic form. One fan commented, “ഇങ്ങേർക്ക് ഇതുപോലെ സിനിമ ഒക്കെ ആയിട്ട് നടന്നാൽ പോരായിരുന്നോ ?? ആ പഴയ vibe SG,” capturing the nostalgia many are feeling.

Initially slated for a June 27 release, the film faced delays due to objections from the CBFC over the use of the name "Janaki," citing its religious significance. After legal proceedings and adjustments—including muting seven references and adding a ‘V’ to the title—the film is finally ready for release, carrying both cinematic anticipation and the legacy of its censorship struggle.
