Fahadh Faasil Lights Up Idhayam Murali Sets, Joins Atharvaa in Romantic Drama

In a surprise announcement, Dawn Pictures revealed that Fahadh Faasil has joined the cast of Idhayam Murali, directed and produced by Aakash Baskaran. The news was shared through a special on-set video featuring Fahadh interacting with the team, instantly amplifying buzz around the film.

Adding a fun touch to the reveal, the makers pinned the hit ‘Illuminati’ track from Fahadh’s Aavesham, captioning the post: “When FaFa illuminated the sets of Idhayam Murali.” The film is slated to hit theatres this summer.

While the specifics of Fahadh’s role remain under wraps — and is widely speculated to be a cameo due to his packed schedule — his presence has already heightened anticipation. He joins an ensemble cast that includes Atharvaa, Kayadu Lohar, Preity Mukhundhan, Niharika NM, Natty, Sudhakar Jayaraman, Dravid Selvam, Rakshan, Anju Kurian, Yashashree Rao, Jonita Gandhi, and Angelin B.

Written and directed by Aakash Baskaran, Idhayam Murali explores a generational love story centered on one-sided love — a thematic nod to Murali’s iconic 1991 romantic drama Idhayam. The teaser positions Atharvaa’s character as “The One and Only Idhayam Murali,” with the tagline “The One Side.”

Technically, the film boasts music by Thaman S, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Netflix has secured post-theatrical streaming rights, though the makers are yet to announce an exact release date.
