Dulquer Salmaan’s Period Drama ‘Kaantha’ Postpones Release, New Date Awaited

The much-awaited Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Kaantha has officially postponed its theatrical release. The film, produced by Dulquer in collaboration with Rana Daggubati, was earlier scheduled to hit cinemas on September 12.

In a statement, the makers expressed gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support since the teaser’s release. “With the resounding success of Lokah, we want Chandra’s rampage at the box office to keep soaring. We are putting together something equally special to take you on yet another incredible journey. Hence, we’ve pushed the release date of Kaantha and will be announcing a new one soon,” the note read.

Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film is set in 1950s Madras and explores the complex and often turbulent relationship between a director and an actor. Alongside Dulquer, Kaantha features Bhagyashri Borse and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.

The technical crew includes Jhanu Chanthar as music composer, Dani Sanchez-Lopez handling cinematography, and Lewllyn Anthony Gonsalvez as the editor.

With its period setting and intriguing premise, Kaantha is among the most anticipated releases of the year. Fans now await the official announcement of its new release date.
