Darshana Rajendran Calls Patriot a Dream: “Fangirling from a Closer Seat”

With the release of Patriot just days away, excitement is building among both audiences and its star-studded cast. Actor Darshana Rajendran recently took to social media to express her joy at being part of the film, describing the experience as nothing short of surreal.

Sharing a photo with co-stars including Mammootty, Revathy, Rajiv Menon, Zarin Shihab, and Kunchacko Boban, Darshana wrote that being part of a film with so many icons feels special, adding that she still feels like a fan “fangirling from a closer seat.”

She also expressed gratitude to director Mahesh Narayanan for casting her in the project. In the film, Darshana plays the partner of Kunchacko Boban’s character, though details about their relationship are being kept under wraps. The makers have already released a romantic track, Kaattu Thottappol, featuring the duo.

Patriot boasts an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Grace Antony, among others. The film’s trailer hints at a gripping narrative where Mammootty’s character turns against a corporate entity after its technology begins to harm civilians, setting up a high-stakes conflict.

Despite the buzz around the reunion of Mammootty and Mohanlal, the makers have emphasized that the story itself is the true highlight of the film.

Meanwhile, composer Sushin Shyam surprised fans by dropping a new track titled Manushyan directly on his YouTube channel without prior promotion. The song features vocals by Shakthisree Gopalan, while Mammootty delivers a monologue. Lyrics are penned by Vinayak Sasikumar.

Patriot is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1 and is expected to dominate screens across Kerala, driven by its massive ensemble and strong pre-release buzz.
