Father-son duo Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram team up again for Ashakal Aayiram, a nostalgic family entertainer directed by G. Prajith. The first-look poster reveals their contrasting characters and promises a story rooted in emotional bonds and life’s full-circle moments. The film is backed by Shree Gokulam Movies.

It’s a nostalgic homecoming for Kalidas Jayaram as he shares screen space once again with his father, Jayaram, in the upcoming Malayalam film Ashakal Aayiram, directed by G. Prajith. The duo first appeared together in the 2000 film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal, where Kalidas, then just six, played his father’s son both on and off screen. Now, 25 years later, the journey comes full circle with Ashakal Aayiram, a heartfelt family entertainer.

Kalidas took to social media to express his emotions, writing, “From sharing the screen as a wide-eyed child with my Appa to standing beside him again as an actor, this journey feels like a full circle. It’s more than just a film—it’s a reunion, a dream reborn.”

The first-look poster, which has struck an emotional chord with fans, shows the two actors standing back-to-back on a road—Kalidas in breezy casuals representing youth and spontaneity, while Jayaram dons formal attire, exuding the seasoned dignity of a middle-aged man. The visual hints at a generational contrast and a possible clash or connection of ideologies, making for an interesting narrative.

Jayaram too shared the poster, stating, “So humbled and overjoyed to share the FIRST LOOK of our upcoming film Ashakal Aayiram—a story close to our hearts. This one’s for every father-son bond, every dreamer, and everyone who’s ever believed in coming home to where it all began.” The film is produced by Shree Gokulam Movies and creatively backed by filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph.

Director G. Prajith added to the excitement, calling Jayaram “the best boy-next-door—now with his own boy!” The film promises to be a charming blend of warmth, humor, and family emotions—an ode to evolving relationships and returning to one’s roots. Fans can expect a feel-good cinematic treat very soon.
