Yash-starrer Toxic secures a ₹105 crore overseas deal, emerging as one of India’s biggest pre-release global films ahead of its March 19 release.
Even before formal promotions begin, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has positioned itself as one of the most commercially powerful Indian films currently in development, rewriting records in pre-release business and global market valuation.
Headlined by Yash, the film has now achieved a major international milestone with overseas distributor Phars Film acquiring the theatrical rights for its Indian-language versions for approximately ₹105 crore. Structured as an advance on a commission basis, the deal is being hailed by trade circles as one of the largest overseas acquisitions for an Indian film at this stage of production. The agreement covers the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam versions, while the English-language version has been kept separate, highlighting the strong global demand for Indian-language cinema.
This follows another significant deal that underlined the film’s expanding commercial footprint. Toxic became the first non-Telugu project to secure a ₹120 crore distribution agreement in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets, acquired by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations—signalling the growing cross-regional value of star-led Indian films.
Industry confidence in Toxic is largely driven by Yash’s proven global box-office pull after the massive success of the KGF franchise, which performed exceptionally well across international territories, especially in the GCC region. Trade insiders suggest the film is being positioned as a global event release, with plans for one of the widest overseas rollouts for an Indian film, excluding Nepal, Japan, and China.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written by her and Yash, Toxic is envisioned as a stylised, mature narrative that blends large-scale spectacle with layered storytelling. The film features an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi, further strengthening its pan-Indian and international appeal.
Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, and releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and other languages, the film boasts a strong technical team. National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi handles visuals, Ravi Basrur composes the music, Ujwal Kulkarni is the editor, and Hollywood action director JJ Perry choreographs the stunt sequences.
Produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is slated for a grand worldwide theatrical release on March 19, aligning with the festive holiday season and cementing its status as a major multi-market cinematic event.
