The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have postponed the film’s release from March 19 to June 4, 2026, citing the ongoing tensions in West Asia. The delay means Dhurandhar 2 will now have a solo theatrical release on its original date.

The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, have announced a change in the film’s release schedule. Originally set to arrive in theatres worldwide on March 19, 2026, the action-drama will now hit the big screen on June 4, 2026.

Production houses KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations confirmed the decision through an official statement. According to the team, the change was prompted by the escalating tensions in West Asia and the uncertainty affecting cinema operations in key international markets.

The makers shared that Toxic was envisioned as a global cinematic experience aimed at audiences across different regions. Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film is designed to reach viewers both in India and overseas. However, the ongoing instability in parts of the Middle East — an important market for the film’s distribution — influenced the decision to postpone the release.

In their statement, the team explained that after years of work, they were eager to present the film on March 19 but felt it was necessary to shift the date to ensure the widest possible global reach. The new date will allow them to release the film under more favourable conditions for audiences and distribution partners.

With Toxic moving out of the March 19 slot, Dhurandhar 2, which was earlier expected to clash with the Yash-starrer, will now enjoy a solo theatrical release on that date.

Reports suggest that the decision to delay the film was taken following advice from a major distribution partner, considering the impact of the geopolitical situation on Gulf region theatres.

The announcement also comes just days before the planned promotional activities for the film. The makers had earlier unveiled the poster for the film’s first single, Tabaahi, and were preparing for a grand trailer launch event in Bengaluru on March 8. The music video, which was expected to release on March 2, has also been temporarily held back as the promotional campaign is being adjusted following the new release schedule.

Toxic features a star-studded cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in key roles. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written by Yash. Apart from Kannada and English, it will also release in dubbed versions across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
