Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups: Yash Promises a New-Age Gangster Drama

At CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Yash offered fresh insights into his much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, describing it as a departure from conventional gangster films.

Sharing the stage with Namit Malhotra, Yash explained that Toxic is not a typical action-heavy narrative. Instead, it explores the psychology and inner conflicts of its characters, presenting a darker, more layered take on the genre. “On the surface, it may look like a gangster film, but it delves into human behaviour and emotions,” he said.

One of the film’s standout aspects is its global ambition. Yash revealed that Toxic has been shot in English as well, signalling its intent to reach international audiences while staying rooted in Indian storytelling.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film marks a creative shift for Yash. He praised the director for bringing a fresh perspective to the gangster genre and highlighted the strong technical team supporting the project.

The film features a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.

Yash also spoke about the evolving landscape of Indian cinema, noting how films today transcend language and regional boundaries. With dubbing and wider releases, Indian stories are now reaching global audiences more easily than ever before.

Backed by Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions, Toxic is positioned as a pan-India film with international sensibilities.

Set for a worldwide release on June 4, 2026, the film promises a mix of visual scale, emotional depth, and unconventional storytelling—marking a bold step forward for the gangster genre.
