Shivarajkumar unveiled Benki, a remix song from Vinay Rajkumar–Megha Shetty starrer Gramayana, a rural entertainer set for a February release.

The makers of the upcoming rural entertainer Gramayana unveiled their latest song, Benki, at a special event graced by Shivarajkumar. Directed by Devanuru Chandru and produced by Lahari Films, the film stars Vinay Rajkumar and Megha Shetty in the lead roles and is gearing up for a theatrical release in February.

After launching the song, Shivarajkumar lauded the team and extended his best wishes for the film’s success. Geetha Shivarajkumar was also present at the event. Composed by Poornachandra Tejaswi, Benki is sung by Kapil Kapilan and Aira Udupi. The song is a remix of the much-loved track Ninnane Naanu Benkiyallu Thampu Kandenu from Manamecchida Hudugi, originally composed by Upendra Kumar, with lyrics by Chi. Udayashankar and vocals by SP Balasubrahmanyam and S Janaki. Notably, both versions have been released under the Lahari Music banner.

Producer Lahari Velu, speaking alongside Lahari head Manohar Naidu, shared that Gramayana marks the banner’s ninth production. He described the film as deeply rooted in rural culture and praised the performances of Vinay Rajkumar, Megha Shetty, and the supporting cast. The makers also confirmed that after earlier delays, the film is now back on track for a grand theatrical outing.

Director Devanuru Chandru noted that audiences will see a fresh side of Vinay Rajkumar in what he called a “pure rural entertainer.” He also commended cinematographer Santosh Rai Pathaje for completing the shoot ahead of schedule and credited composer Poornachandra Tejaswi for delivering melodious songs that complement the film’s earthy tone.

The film features an ensemble cast including Achyuth Kumar, Gopalakrishna Deshpande, Arun Sagar, Bala Rajwadi, Aparna, and Seetha Kote, with Loose Mada Yogi appearing in a special role. Vinay Rajkumar revealed that his character, aptly named Sixth Sense, is closely tied to the village milieu, while Megha Shetty described her role as Kusuma, a bold and strong-willed rural woman.
