Rona Introduces Raghu Raja Nanda and Satish Kumar to Kannada Cinema

Kannada cinema is gearing up to welcome fresh talent with Rona, a film that introduces both a debutant director and a new leading man. The project is helmed by Satish Kumar, who steps into filmmaking with an intent to craft a story that balances experimentation with strong visual storytelling.

At its heart is Raghu Raja Nanda, a theatre actor making his first big-screen appearance. Starring opposite him is Prakruthi Prasad, while seasoned performer Sharath Lohitashwa lends gravitas in a pivotal role.

The teaser, released following the motion poster, signals that Rona is more than just a conventional village drama. Rooted in rural settings, the narrative intriguingly blends science, faith, and politics — an unusual mix that promises to set the film apart in the landscape of Kannada cinema.

With much of the creative team also coming from theatre, the makers hope to deliver a film that carries a raw and authentic energy. On the technical side, Rona features Arun Kumar as cinematographer, Gnanesh B Mathad as editor, and music by Gagan Baderiya, with lyrics penned by V Nagendra Prasad, Chetan Kumar, and Kinnal Raj.

Produced under BKR Productions and Team, the film is currently in post-production and is expected to hit theatres in November.
