Rithanya Vijay Makes Acting Debut with Landlord

Rithanya Vijay, daughter of actor Duniya Vijay, is set to step into films with Landlord, directed by Jadesh K. Hampi. The makers recently revealed her character, “Bhagya,” marking her big-screen debut. Following her father’s guidance, Rithanya shared her journey into cinema.

She recalled growing up around film sets and always wanting to be an actress. “My father insisted I complete my degree before entering films. Though I had opportunities in school and college, he kept me away until I was ready,” she said. After graduation, Rithanya trained in acting at Anupam Kher’s Institute in Mumbai and also performed in plays. Around this time, the role of a daughter in Landlord came her way, which director Jadesh felt suited her perfectly.

Excited about playing Bhagya, Rithanya revealed that the character has two shades and significant importance in the story. “It’s rare for a daughter to play a daughter in her father’s film. That brings both pride and responsibility,” she said, adding that she took valuable inputs from both her father and Jadesh to shape the role.

Rithanya is also set to star opposite Yuvarajkumar in director Suri’s upcoming film, her second project. “I’m carefully choosing stories and always discussing decisions with my father before finalizing,” she shared, highlighting her thoughtful approach to building her film career.
