From glamour to grit, Rachita Ram explores new avatars in Ayogya 2, Cult, Landlord & beyond.
A Busy Lineup
Rachita Ram, fresh from the praise for her Tamil debut Coolie, is gearing up for an exciting Kannada slate: Ayogya 2, Cult, and Landlord. Birthday poster releases showcased her versatility—girl-next-door in Ayogya 2, full glamour in Cult, and a strikingly different look in Landlord.
Chinamma in Landlord
In Jadeshaa K Hampi’s Landlord, opposite Vijay Kumar, Rachita plays Chinamma, a fiery village woman with a machete in hand. “After 12 years, why be monotonous? Heroes experiment, so why not us? I want to follow actors like Malashree and Shruti, and break the notion of just being the glamour girl,” she says.
Inspiration & Support
She credits Coolie for broadening her perspective on performance. Actor Darshan and director Lokesh Kanagaraj also encouraged her to take up Landlord. “Darshan told me the role would be challenging, and Lokesh said such characters bring longevity to an actor’s career,” she recalls.
Challenges on Set
Ninety percent of Landlord is already shot. Rachita admits the Kolar slang and earthy intensity of Chinamma pushed her to the edge. “I was overstressed at first, but by the second day, I got the grip, and Jadeshaa was very happy with my performance,” she shares.
What’s Next
Post-Coolie, Rachita is being offered diverse characters, including negative roles. While Cult promises glamour and Ayogya 2 relatability, she teases a women-centric film and a fresh collaboration with a new team, to be announced soon.
