Love Mocktail 3 shifts to March 19 after Toxic moves to June, aiming to capitalise on the Ugadi–Ramzan long weekend.
The upcoming Kannada film Love Mocktail 3 has locked a new release date of March 19, stepping into the festive window originally occupied by Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The slot opened up after the Yash-starrer shifted its release to June 4.
Director-actor Darling Krishna confirmed that the team decided to advance the film’s release to make the most of the festive long weekend. The film was earlier scheduled for April 10.
“March 19 is too good a date to let go. Ugadi falls on that day, followed by Ramzan on March 21, creating a long holiday weekend. For any film, it’s a lucky time,” Krishna said.
Interestingly, the film had originally targeted a February 23 release before another Kannada project claimed the date. With Toxic initially set for March 19, the team moved to April 10. Now that the big-ticket film has shifted to June, Love Mocktail 3 has quickly stepped in.
Krishna believes the franchise’s strong emotional connection with audiences will help the third instalment benefit from the festive mood. The film continues the popular series that began with Love Mocktail and its sequel.
The story for the third chapter has been written by Krishna along with Milana Nagaraj, who also co-produces the film. The narrative reportedly explores a heartfelt father-daughter relationship.
The cast includes Samvrutha Sunil, Abhilash, Dileep Raj, Shwetha Prasad, Jagadish, Giri Raj, Rajani and Neyaara among others. Music for the film is composed by Nakul Abhyankar.
Despite reports of Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh releasing in the same window, Krishna remains unfazed, stating that Love Mocktail 3 is firmly targeted at Kannada audiences.
