K-POP – The Epic Battle promises stylised action and fantasy, blending BTS-inspired pop culture with a rooted Kannada–Telugu cinematic vision.
Social media is buzzing following the title reveal and first glimpse of K-POP – The Epic Battle, a film that boldly blends action, fantasy, and global pop culture. Produced by Alagani Kiran Kumar under the Alagani Movies banner, the film is written and directed by debutant Kevin Luke, who aims to deliver a high-energy, crowd-pleasing spectacle.
According to Kevin Luke, the teaser offers only a small window into the film’s expansive world. He explains that the core idea revolves around an epic clash between the BTS Army and their haters, set within a stylised yet relatable universe. Designed to appeal to audiences across age groups, the film balances pop-culture-driven fantasy with grounded storytelling.
Actor Garuda Ram, known for his work in KGF and other films, plays a key role and highlights an interesting dual meaning behind the title. While the story draws inspiration from Korean pop culture, the ‘K’ also represents Kannada. The film is being made simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu. Garuda Ram describes the project as a complete entertainer and reveals that he essays a modern interpretation of Yama Dharma Raja, with more surprises to be unveiled later.
The film also features Vishnu Oi of Mad Square fame and introduces debutant Sanjay in prominent roles. Sanjay shared his enthusiasm, noting that the project is backed by his brother and marks a significant milestone in his journey—from youthful on-screen moments to his first major big-screen performance.
Backed by a strong technical crew, K-POP – The Epic Battle boasts cinematography by Rajkanth, editing by Shashidhar P, and music composed by Pranav Muniraj. Action choreography is handled by Arjun Raj of Kantara fame. The film’s visual effects are led by Kerala-based EggWhite VFX, with additional support from teams in the USA, Europe, and Thailand. Kevin Luke revealed that the promo alone took six months of VFX work, while the full shoot is expected to span 60–65 days and include five to six songs.
Co-writer and co-director Lavanya L, a self-professed BTS Army member, said her inspiration came during the COVID period, when BTS videos deeply influenced her creative approach and helped shape the film’s emotional energy.
Producer Alagani Kiran Kumar expressed confidence in Kevin Luke’s vision, stating that the director’s passion convinced him early on. He added that the lead actor has long dreamed of this role and confirmed that shooting in Kannada and Telugu will begin simultaneously in the coming months.
Scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026, K-POP – The Epic Battle aims to present a fresh, imaginative take on pop culture through an Indian cinematic lens.
