On the occasion of Rishab Shetty’s birthday, the makers of Kantara gifted fans an electrifying first look at Kantara: Chapter 1, the prequel to the 2022 cinematic phenomenon. The newly unveiled poster features Rishab Shetty mid-air in a fierce battle stance, clad in tribal warrior attire, holding a battle axe and shield. His expression radiates divine rage and ancient strength, with a burning ring of fire embedded with mythic tribal symbols blazing behind him. Drenched in fiery tones of red, gold, and orange, the poster ignites anticipation for what promises to be an epic origin tale.
The caption accompanying the poster read, “Where legends are born and the roar of the wild echoes… #Kantara – A prequel to the masterpiece that moved millions.” The film, which has wrapped shoot, is all set to hit theatres worldwide on October 2, 2025.
Directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 delves deeper into the mystical world introduced in the original. While Kantara (2022) explored the spiritual and cultural ethos of Tulunadu, the prequel promises to take viewers to the roots of the legend, offering a richer narrative steeped in folklore, mythology, and divine forces.
The first film was a massive critical and commercial success, hailed for its authentic storytelling, rooted visuals, and gripping spiritual themes. ETimes had rated it 4 stars, praising Aravind Kashyap’s cinematography, B. Ajaneesh Loknath’s soulful music, and the film’s unfiltered portrayal of regional culture and traditions.
With Kantara: Chapter 1, expectations are sky-high. The new poster already going viral is a clear sign that this film isn’t just a continuation—it’s set to be another landmark moment in Indian cinema.
