The gripping trailer of Ekka, starring Yuva Rajkumar, showcases a young villager’s turbulent shift to Bengaluru's dark underbelly. Directed by Rohit Padaki, the film explores innocence, survival, and transformation. With action, emotion, and surprises, Ekka hits theatres on July 18.
The much-anticipated trailer of Ekka is finally out, offering a glimpse into a compelling journey of transformation. The story follows Muthu, played by Yuva Rajkumar, who begins life in a peaceful village alongside his mother (Shruthi Krishna) and close friends, cherishing the simplicity and serenity of rural living. However, unforeseen circumstances force Muthu to leave his tranquil life behind and venture into the chaotic world of Bengaluru.
As Muthu navigates the challenges of city life, the trailer hints at a dramatic shift — awakening the “animal within” as he confronts a gritty and dangerous new reality. Yuva is at the heart of the narrative, and the trailer positions his performance as raw and emotionally layered.
Also featured are Sanjana Anand as his love interest, Atul Kulkarni and Poorna Mysore as part of a gang of antagonists, and a striking twist with Adityaa appearing as a no-nonsense police officer. Sampada Hulivana makes a brief appearance, leaving viewers curious about her role in Muthu’s journey. Charanraj’s background score heightens the intensity, adding a gritty rhythm to the narrative.
Directed by Rohit Padaki, Ekka is set to release in theatres on July 18, a slight delay from its original date. As Yuva Rajkumar’s second film, it carries the weight of expectations and is seen as a vital stepping stone in his career after the lukewarm response to his debut Yuva. With a powerful trailer and an engaging setup, Ekka is poised to break the dry spell in the Kannada film industry and deliver the action-packed punch fans have been waiting for.
