‘Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana’: A Left-Handed Thriller with a Dark Comic Twist

Accidents are inevitable when a world isn’t built for you — this is the provocative premise driving Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana, a darkly comic suspense thriller in Kannada, slated to hit screens on June 13. The film marks the directorial debut of Samarth B Kadkol and is produced by Hyphen Pictures and Keelambi Media Lab. The cast includes Diganth Manchale in the lead, alongside Dhanu Harsha and Nidhi Subbaiah, with Nirup Bhandari and Radhika Narayan playing pivotal roles.

The narrative follows Lohit, a left-handed techie portrayed by Diganth, who finds himself battling a world designed for right-handed people. Director Samarth explains, “Lohit struggles to adjust, and the chaos that unfolds from being forced to use his non-dominant hand leads to several unexpected, often hilarious, and sometimes dangerous incidents.” The idea, he reveals, was sparked by observing a left-handed member on his team and evolved through real-life anecdotes uncovered during research.

Samarth adds that the script organically wove together humor and suspense, making it a unique blend. Producer Rajesh Keelambi shares that the film marks a significant comeback for Diganth and expresses optimism, stating, “The early response has been very encouraging, and we are now gearing up for a pan-India release in the coming weeks.”
