Diganth Manchale Joins Ramesh Aravind in Akash Srivatsa’s Upcoming Psychological Thriller 'Daiji'

For the first time ever, Diganth Manchale and Ramesh Aravind are set to share screen space in a new film directed by Akash Srivatsa, Bangalore Times has exclusively revealed. The film, a psychological thriller, features the duo as brothers — a dynamic that comes with a nostalgic twist.

In a heartfelt nod to Ramesh Aravind’s iconic film America America, the character names have been carefully chosen to reflect that legacy. “Ramesh sir plays Surya, Diganth essays Gagan, and Radhika Narayan plays Bhumi,” confirms director Akash Srivatsa. He also shared that the role of Gagan was crafted with Diganth specifically in mind.

“Since our film explores intense psychological themes, Diganth’s character brings a much-needed softness and comic relief,” Akash adds. “He’s the brother who arrives from India carrying happala (papad) and uppinkayi (pickle) to visit Surya in the UK — a small but symbolic cultural touch.”

With a blend of emotional depth and humor, this collaboration promises a fresh cinematic experience. The unique pairing of Ramesh Aravind and Diganth is already sparking anticipation among Kannada cinema fans.
