Deva Sharma’s Varna: A Journey from Corporate Dreams to Cinematic Truth

From the boardroom to the big screen, Deva Sharma’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. What began as a spark of inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita has evolved into Varna — a film that embodies truth, justice, and rural resilience.

“Initially, I thought of Varna as a short film,” Deva recalls. “But when producer Mallineni Naveen Chowdhary heard the story, he said, ‘This deserves a bigger stage. Let’s make it without compromise.’” That single decision turned a simple concept into a full-fledged feature film — a defining moment for both the filmmaker and his team.

Producer Naveen Chowdhary, a businessman from Pavagada, says, “I believed in Deva’s vision. He had something real to say, and I wanted to back that sincerity. I just told him — make it well, and he did.”

Varna follows the story of a principled young man from a rural background who stands firmly for truth and integrity. Arjun Yogi, playing the lead, shares, “This is my fifth film and one that’s deeply personal. My character, Varna, is a simple village youth who can’t tolerate wrongdoing.”

Joining him is Bhavya Gowda, who portrays Suma, a kind-hearted village girl. The film’s music is composed by Ramesh Krishna, with Gauri Venkatesh handling cinematography. Action sequences are choreographed by Chinnayya and Sagar.

Currently in post-production, Varna is slated for a November release, marking a new chapter in Deva Sharma’s creative journey — one that blends philosophy, purpose, and storytelling.
