Bruhaspati is a Kannada version of Tamil film VIP. The original starring Dhanush and directed by debutant Velraj was a superhit.

Bruhaspati starring Manoranjan Ravichandran, Mishti Chakravarthy, Saikumar, Sithara, Sadhu Kokila is a mass entertainer. Director Nanda Kishore is successful in keeping the audience engaged with simple and realistic incidents without adding unwanted "commercial elements" to the flick. He has done justice to the original script. Sandalwood actor Manoranjan Ravichandran has tried his best to carry Dhanush’s style. It is his second venture after ‘Saheba’ which flopped at the box-office. Mishti’s debut to Sandalwood as girl next door is also impressive. The Plot: Brushaspati revolves around the unemployed civil engineer Sudhir who is unwilling to take up any other job. He is a person who just want to lead good life but is struck by a tragedy. How he manages to come out of that situation forms the crux of the story.
