There is a controversy brewing in Sandalwood involving one of its popular stars. Kannada star Darshan Thoogudeep’s fans are unhappy with purported remarks by actor Jaggesh in an audio clip that has surfaced online. After the backlash from Darshans fans, Jaggesh has now claimed that the voice in the clip was not his. Till now, Darshan has not reacted to the entire incident.

Jaggesh, who was shooting for Vijaya Prasad’s Totapuri, has apologised over the clip. Darshan’s fans have been demanding an apology ever since the clip was circulated.

Darshan and Jaggesh were seen together in a Kannada film titled Agraja. The multi-starrer was directed by Srinandan and was based on the National Film Award winning Telugu film Broker.

Darshan who is fondly known as the ‘Challenging Star' by his fans has been a part of the Kannada industry for more than two decades. The star who clearly enjoys a huge fan following has donned many hats in the industry. One of his films titled Namma Preethiya Ramu also got him the Karnataka State Film Award. The film was a tragedy and experimental movie directed by Sanjay and Vijay.

The Kannada star’s next movie is Roberrt which is being directed by Tharun Sudhir. The movie is slated to be released in the theatres on March 11. sha Bhat, Jagapathi Babu and Vinnod Prabhakar are also part of the project.

The makers are planning for a mega pre-release program for the action-thriller. The event is scheduled to take place in Hubballi. The event is slated to take place on February 28. The entire cast and crew of the film will grace the event. Darshan had tweeted earlier today about a pre-release celebration of Robertt to be held in Hubli.

"It will help us connect with the audience and Darshan’s fans from North Karnataka, which has been a good sector, as people there really enjoy watching Kannada films. We had planned an event at Gulbarga last year, but it could not take place due to the pandemic,” Tharun was quoted by the New Indian Express as saying.

The project is produced by Umapathy Film. The film will be released in Kannada and Telugu languages.
