Vir Das Announces Baara Number, a Found-Footage Horror First for Hindi Cinema

Vir Das is set to explore a new cinematic space with his next directorial venture, Baara Number, a found-footage horror film that is said to be a first of its kind in Hindi cinema.

After making his directorial debut with Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos, Vir reunites with his co-director Kavi Shastri for this ambitious project. The film will be produced under his banner, Zazu Productions.

According to reports, Baara Number is expected to go on floors in June, with Mumbai serving as the primary shooting location. Details regarding the cast and storyline are currently under wraps, adding to the intrigue around the project.

Interestingly, Vir Das is no stranger to the horror-comedy space, having previously appeared in Go Goa Gone—India’s first mainstream zombie film. With Baara Number, he now steps deeper into the horror genre, aiming to deliver a distinctive and experimental narrative style.
