System follows a young lawyer and a sharp stenographer navigating power, justice, and ambition in a high-stakes legal battle.

The trailer of System, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika and Ashutosh Gowariker, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday, offering a tense glimpse into a world where justice often bends before influence and power. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the legal thriller is backed by Baweja Studios, with Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Smitha Baliga serving as producers.

The trailer introduces Neha, played by Sonakshi, an ambitious young lawyer determined to prove herself worthy of becoming a partner at her father’s law firm. Her challenge is straightforward but daunting — win ten cases. To strengthen her chances, she joins forces with Sarika, a sharp and street-smart courtroom stenographer portrayed by Jyotika, whose own hidden motivations gradually come into play.

As the story unfolds, System dives into high-stakes courtroom confrontations, strained personal relationships, and moral dilemmas, all while questioning whether justice can truly survive within a system shaped by privilege and authority.

Speaking about the film, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said the idea stemmed from her fascination with stories rooted in everyday realities. “There are countless stories around us, but presenting them authentically and creatively is always a challenge. That challenge is what inspired System,” she shared.

Sonakshi described her role as one of her more rewarding experiences, adding that the film goes beyond the conventions of a courtroom drama. “It reflects a society where justice itself can feel divided,” the actor said.

Jyotika, meanwhile, called Sarika a layered and emotionally complex character. She noted that the film explores the clash between privilege and inequality, while also highlighting Ashwiny’s grounded and realistic storytelling approach.

System is set to premiere on Prime Video  on May 22.
