Saiyami Kher Joins Akshay Kumar & Saif Ali Khan in Priyadarshan’s ‘Haiwaan’ – A Career Milestone Shot in Kochi

Saiyami Kher is currently in Kochi, shooting for her next big project, Haiwaan, directed by the legendary Priyadarshan. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles and marks a major milestone in Saiyami’s journey as she collaborates with one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated filmmakers.

Expressing her excitement, Saiyami shared,

“Working with Priyadarshan sir feels surreal. His films have been a huge part of my growing-up years. I’ve admired his work for so long, and to now be on his set as an actor feels really special.”

Reflecting on her creative journey, she added,

“I feel fortunate to have worked with incredible directors like Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Pandey, R. Balki, Rahul Dholakia, and now Priyadarshan sir. Each of them has taught me so much — I’ve grown as both an actor and a person. Shooting in Kochi has been wonderful. Sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, who bring immense energy and camaraderie, has been a complete joyride.”

Also starring Shriya Pilgaonkar, Haiwaan brings together Akshay, Saif, and Priyadarshan for the first time, while reuniting Akshay and Saif on screen after 17 years, since their last collaboration in Tashan (2008).

Produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, Haiwaan is inspired by Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, though the director has revealed that the Hindi version will feature significant changes in dialogue and screenplay. The original starred Mohanlal as a visually impaired man protecting a judge’s daughter — and fittingly, Mohanlal will appear in a cameo in Haiwaan, adding an exciting touch of nostalgia to the film.
