Rishab Shetty Unveils First Poster of ‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’

The film, set to release on January 21, 2027, is poised to be one of India’s most ambitious cinematic ventures, celebrating the life and legacy of one of the country’s greatest warriors. Directed by Sandeep Singh, the film boasts an impressive creative team, with music by Pritam, lyrics by Prasoon Joshi, and cinematography by Ravi Varman, known for his work in Ram Leela and Barfi. Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has also joined the project, ensuring a grand auditory experience.

Rishab Shetty on Portraying Shivaji Maharaj

Speaking to Times of India, Rishab Shetty expressed his deep admiration for the historical figure, calling it an “honor” to portray him on screen.

“Shivaji’s life and legacy have always fascinated me, and there is a deep sense of pride in being associated with such a great historical figure. Opportunities like biopics come only once in a lifetime, and as an actor, it is a privilege to bring his story to life on the big screen,”  he said.

Apart from The Pride of Bharat, Rishab Shetty is set to play Hanuman in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman, the sequel to the hit superhero film HanuMan. He is also directing and starring in Kantara: Chapter 1, the much-awaited prequel to Kantara, slated for release later this year.

With such high-profile projects in his pipeline, Rishab Shetty continues to make waves in Indian cinema, and The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is expected to be a landmark film in his career.
