The actor shared a photo from the puja that was conducted to kickstart the film in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu will see Akshay in the role of an archaeologist.
Akshay Kumar shared a photo from the muhurat of Ram Setu where priests can be seen conducting the puja with a photo of Lord Ram and Sita in front of them. A clapper board with Ram Setu written on it can also be seen in the photo. Sharing the photo, Akshay wrote, "Aaj Shri Ayoshya ji main film Ram Setu ke shubhaarambh par bhagwan Shri Ram ka aashirwaad prapt hua. Jai Shri Ram (Today, we got the blessings of Lord Ram as we kickstarted our film Ram Setu in Ayodhya) (sic)."
Akshay Kumar had arrived at Ram Ki Paidi in Ayodhya to conduct a puja. However, due to the crowd and mismanagement, he had to return. The actor had arrived in his car and walked till Ram Ki Paidi before returning.
Earlier today, Akshay Kumar shared a photo of himself as he jetted off to Ayodhya from Mumbai with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushratt Bharuccha. In the photo, the actor is seen looking at Jacqueline, while Nushratt can be seen behind him. All three actors are sitting on the staircase of the private plane.
Sharing the photo, Akshay wrote, "A special film, a special start...Team #RamSetu off to Ayodhya for the mahurat shot. And so the journey begins. Need special wishes from all you guys (sic)."
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu is being produced by Aruna Bhatia, Lyca Productions and Vikram Malhotra. In an earlier interview, Vikram Malhotra had said, "Ram Setu is a story formed on facts, science and historical heritage and is anchored in the deep belief of Indians since centuries. Today, as the younger generation grows curious about its heritage, there has never been a better time to tell stories anchored deep in the cultural fabric of our country."
It seems the film is about the excavation of the popular Ram Setu in the epic Ramayan through which Lord Ram reached Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from Ravan.
