Kareena Kapoor Teams Up With Prithviraj Sukumaran and Meghna Gulzar for Daayra

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to headline a new film titled Daayra, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar. The project also stars Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, making it one of the most awaited collaborations of the year.

Kareena confirmed the news on Instagram with behind-the-scenes pictures featuring herself, Meghna, and Prithviraj engaged in discussion, followed by a cheerful group photo. Sharing her excitement, Kareena wrote,

“I have always said that I am a director's actor… and this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, Meghna Gulzar, and alongside the magnificent Prithviraj Sukumaran, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, Daayra. Let's do this.”

Her sister Karisma Kapoor reacted with a celebratory “Finally ❤️”, while actress Amruta Khanvilkar added, “Wow,” with clapping emojis.

Director Meghna Gulzar also shared the announcement, writing,

“When the lines of Law and Justice cross. Thrilled to embark on DAAYRA with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.”

Produced by Junglee Pictures, Daayra is written by Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal. Meghna Gulzar, known for critically acclaimed films like Raazi and Chhapaak, last directed Sam Bahadur in 2023.

Kareena was last seen in Singham Again (2024), while Prithviraj recently directed and starred in the pan-India action drama L2: Empuraan, released on March 27.

Fans can expect Daayra to blend courtroom intensity with emotional depth—hallmarks of Meghna Gulzar's cinema.
