Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Postponed; Varun Dhawan Rom-Com Moves to June 12

The upcoming romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai starring Varun Dhawan has been postponed once again. The film will now release in theatres on June 12, a week later than its previously scheduled date of June 5.

Directed by David Dhawan, the film also features Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in key roles.

Producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films confirmed the decision in an official statement, explaining that the shift was made in light of recent release date changes within the industry.

The development follows the rescheduling of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring Yash, which moved its release to June 4. The makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai decided to push their film by a week to avoid a direct box-office clash and maintain a healthier release environment.

“We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date,” the statement read, adding that the film will now arrive in theatres on June 12.

Promotional activities—including the release of the soundtrack and trailer—will continue as planned as the team builds momentum for the mid-June release.

Interestingly, this marks the third release date change for the film. It was initially scheduled to arrive on April 10 before being moved to June 5, and now finally to June 12.
