Directed By: Raaj Shaandilyaa

Ayushmann Khurrana is the most promising star of the current generation with 5 back to back hits and a national award and Dream Girl is yet another feather in his cap.

The story is about Karamveer Singh (Ayushmann Khurrana) who plays as Sita in Ramleela and has mastered playing a woman with skillfully mimicking the female voice due to which he lands up getting a job in shady adult hotline where women sweet-talk with lonely men and it's a dream job for Karam. He disguises as Pooja who entertains lonely caller and becomes an overnight sensation.

Things go out of hand when 5 of his callers falls in love with Pooja a.k.a Karam and go after him.

The characters are all interesting and one of his kind. There’s a middle-aged drunk cop (Vijay Raaz) dying to unleash his inner poet, a young chap (Raj Bhansali) with a heavy Haryanavi accent and testosterone level rising by the second, a dejected-in-love man-hating journalist (Nidhi Bisht), his fiancee’s brother (Abhishek Banerjee) and the fifth one is a spoiler which will definitely cracks you up with laughter.

Ayushmann has mastered the role of a small-town guy who deals with the taboo of society. And the actor deserves a pat on the back for effortlessly pulling off this tough act proving once again why he continues to scale heights.

Each time he voices Pooja and you feel as if some woman is dubbing for him that's the perfection he brings on voicing Pooja. The makers too know that Ayushmann has become the most reliable and bankable star so the narrative is entirely on his shoulder. And the actor doesn't disappoint you, never a bit.

However, a big pat on the back to writer-director Raaj Shaandilyaa and co-writers Niket Pandey and Nirman D Singh for keeping the screenplay grippy, the dialogues quirky with laugh out loud one-liners and not allowing the story to go off the rails. It has some subversive take on today's society against a particular gender, for example, Karam telling that if Draupadi cheer haran happened in todays #MeToo movenment then Kauravas would have gone jail first.

The second half does suffer from a lack of ingenuity but funny dialogues and the weird situation will always keep a constant smile on your face. But director Raaj tones down gender-related issues only for sheer entertainment, the director should have given some focus to the issue too.

The other co-stars have also given a finest performance in the film. Annu Kapoor has given a memorable performance, his comic timing and his transformation is par-excellence. the guy truly an acting genius.

Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Banerjee, Nushrat Bharucha, Rajesh Sharma, Nidhi Bisht, and Raj Bhansali, Khurrana turns in a flawless performance never allowing the story to turn monotonous.

Finally, Dream Girl is a superbly entertaining film, after a long time a Hindi film gave a true blue comedy film which surely will entertain the masses and the classes.
