The Dhurandhar trailer teases a violent, high-stakes thriller as Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt dive into dark, intense roles in Aditya Dhar’s new actioner.
The makers of Dhurandhar have dropped a gripping and blood-soaked trailer, showcasing a powerhouse cast led by Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal. Directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame, the film also features Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.
The trailer opens with a menacing introduction to Arjun Rampal’s character, Major Iqbal of Pakistan’s ISI—sporting gold-plated teeth, a buzz cut and a flowing beard. Referencing Zia-ul-Haq’s infamous “bleed India with a thousand cuts” doctrine, he tortures a captive with razor-sharp wires. The video then cuts to the rest of the ensemble: R Madhavan steps in as Ajay Sanyal, the R&AW chief modelled on NSA head Ajit Doval, while Akshaye Khanna plays the cold-blooded Rehman Dakait. Sanjay Dutt appears as Chaudhary Aslam, a Pakistani police officer described as a blend of “devil and djinn.”
Ranveer Singh’s character is not formally introduced in the trailer, but glimpses suggest he plays an undercover operative sent to infiltrate terror networks in Pakistan. Reports hint that his role is inspired by Major Mohit Sharma, who famously infiltrated the Hizbul Mujahideen. The trailer is packed with brutal imagery, including graphic scenes of heads being smashed.
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is set for a theatrical release on December 5.
