Story/Premise 

Ashish Mehra, a 50-year-old divorcé, falls in love with Ayesha Khurana, a 26-year-old woman. Chaos ensues when Ashish introduces Ayesha to his family, including Manju, Ashish's ex-wife

Review

The subject, age disparity between couples which isn't just an age gap but a generation gap, has a lot of grey area and 'De de Pyar de'  ventures to touch them all, including the ones that can make you really uncomfortable. Though Taking isn't as raw and real as Amitabh Bachmann's 'Cheeni Kum' but it's delightful and covers all aspects that even reality wouldn't touch. Also, DDPD casually touches the topic of 'Sex vs Love' and emphasis on their independence.

Perhaps Movie won't align with your thoughts and you may contradict with it too but what the movie won't do is to Bore you! it humorously presents its say on the topic. Although The trailer does play a downside for the movie as it discloses too much, But to our surprise! DDPD has more to offer ! Every scene from the trailer has a joyous extended version. 

The movie opens right from the romance of Ajay and Rakul's characters and satires it too through Javed Jaffrey's.  Problems are established in this weird relationship Throughout and the characters just choose to ignore them prioritising separation pain higher than a future issue or it is just to make the movie more interesting :p. Despite the entertainment quotient, there are indeed some loopholes, like Rakul's character breaks up with her ex over cheating on her and excuses Ajay's for the same or its a slight hint that she is a gold digger (which she verbally contradicts though) or it's just cinematic liberty for entertainment purposes?

The Debutant Director and Veteran Editor Akiv Ali compliments the writing of Luv Ranjan and doesn't let the screenplay polarise to a single side for long and keeps chuckles flowing in at regular intervals. To break the odds of predictability, some scenes go against the norms, like the one in which wife ties rakhi to husband  which confused audience about where the movie is heading. All actors aptly portrayed their parts and everyone gets a punchline to which the background scores adds more fun.

Verdict 

De De Pyar De! from the Luv Ranjan school (where entertainment is high-priority and shortcuts aren't taken to do so) is a joyride you shouldn't miss. Perhaps Our lives are flawed, lately, literature has started accepting it. For it to be embraced we should stop judging movies on Righteousness! DDPD is one such flick! which addresses our imperfections and entertains too!
