Salman Khan was convicted in 1998 Blackbuck poaching case yesterday and was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment.
Actor Salman Khan who was convicted in Blackbuck case yesterday is Qaidi No.106 in Jodhpur central jail. Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is accused of rape is his neighbour. According to reports, he would be kept at Ward No. 2 isolated from other prisoners and with extra security. Jodhpur DIG mentioned that no VIP treatment would be served for Salman Khan in jail. The actor will have to spend Friday night in jail as the court reserved the judgement on the actor’s bail plea hearing till Saturday. Salman Khan was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs. 10,000 under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. However, his co-stars - Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari were set free.
