Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna & Nawazuddin Siddiqui Unite for Maddock’s Diwali Horror Comedy Thamma

Maddock Films has dropped the trailer of its upcoming horror-comedy Thamma, promising audiences a spooky yet entertaining ride this festive season. Headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana, with Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in prominent roles, the film is set for a grand release in cinemas on October 21, coinciding with Diwali.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya fame and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Falara, Thamma is produced by Dinesh Vijan along with Stree director Amar Kaushik.

The film’s antagonist, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is Yakshasan—a powerful vampire from the Betaals, a clan once sworn to protect humanity but now led astray to feed on human blood. Ayushmann plays Alok, an ordinary man who unexpectedly crosses paths with Yakshasan and Tadaka, another vampire who becomes his love interest. What follows is Alok’s transformation into a vampire, the chaos it brings to his unsuspecting parents (Paresh Rawal and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma), and his eventual clash with Yakshasan.

Adding to the excitement, Thamma introduces crossovers in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya makes an appearance, as does Sathyaraj’s Elvis Karim Prabhakar from Munjya. Panchayat star Faisal Khan also joins the cast in a key role.

Ayushmann has described Thamma as the “biggest release” of his career. He shared, “For me, Diwali has always been about family and watching movies together. To have Thamma release on this occasion feels surreal. I’m thrilled to bring joy and laughter to audiences across the country with this film.”

Packed with humour, supernatural thrills, and an ensemble cast, Thamma is gearing up to be a major Diwali entertainer.
