AR Rahman and Google Cloud Unite for Metahuman Band ‘Secret Mountain’

Music maestro AR Rahman has joined forces with Google Cloud for his futuristic project Secret Mountain — a metahuman digital avatar band that blends music, storytelling, and cutting-edge AI. The collaboration aims to “power a new era of entertainment,” combining Rahman’s artistry with Google’s advanced AI technologies like Gemini, Imagen, and Veo to create hyper-realistic avatars and enable real-time global fan interactions.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian praised the partnership, calling it “an awe-inspiring digital experience built with security, scalability, and innovation at its core.” The project follows Rahman’s meetings with several tech leaders, including OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Srinivas Narayanan, and Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas, to refine the vision behind Secret Mountain.

Secret Mountain narrates the story of Luna, a woman transported to a mystical world where she encounters diverse musical avatars. The project uses Hedera, an alternative distributed ledger to blockchain, and was developed by Good Fellas Studio and Qyuki.

Rahman’s compositions form the emotional backbone of the experience, weaving music from artists and mentors across China, Africa, India, Ireland, and beyond — creating a truly global, metaverse-driven musical odyssey.
