‘Akhanda 2’ Jukebox Roars In: Thaman S Unveils High-Energy Spiritual Soundtrack Ahead of Release

The team behind Balakrishna’s highly anticipated Akhanda 2 unveiled the film’s complete jukebox on Sunday, releasing the entire soundtrack five days ahead of its theatrical debut. Thaman S, who earlier composed for Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, returns as the music director for this sequel.

The Akhanda 2 OST features nine tracks—eight of which are spiritually charged, high-octane compositions with titles such as ‘Akhanda Thandavam,’ ‘Gangadhara Shankara,’ ‘Shiva Shiva,’ ‘Hara Hara,’ ‘Shankara Shankara,’ ‘Shambo,’ ‘Akhanda Haindavam,’ and ‘The Thaandavam.’ These tracks reinforce the film’s devotional undertones and are expected to appear at crucial moments throughout the narrative. The ninth song is ‘Jajikaya,’ released recently as a standalone single.

The album brings together prominent playback voices including Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, the Sarvepalli Sisters, SP Charan, and more. Most of the lyrics are penned by Kalyan Chakravarthy and Adviteeya Vojjala, while National Award winner Kasarla Shyam has contributed one of the tracks.

Produced under the 14 Reels Plus banner, Akhanda 2 is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on December 5. The film cleared its censorship process on Saturday, receiving a U/A certificate from the CBFC. This project marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and the director after Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. The cast also includes Samyuktha and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame Harshaali Malhotra in key roles.

Expanding their pan-India vision, the makers are also reportedly planning an Awadhi version of the film, in addition to Hindi, targeting audiences across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.
