Toy Story 5: The Toys Face Their Biggest Rival Yet — a Smart Tablet Named Lilypad!

The beloved Toy Story franchise returns with a fresh, modern twist in Toy Story 5. This time, the biggest threat to Buzz, Jessie, and their gang isn’t another toy — it’s a gadget. The teaser introduces Lilypad, a frog-shaped tablet that becomes eight-year-old Bonnie’s latest obsession, sparking fear and rivalry among her classic toys.

The trailer opens with a parcel arriving at Bonnie’s home. As her mom asks her to open it, Rex, Slinky Dog, Knifey, and Forky watch anxiously. Mr. Potato Head even removes Mrs. Potato Head’s eyes to peek inside! Jessie looks terrified when Bonnie finally unveils Lilypad — a sleek, smart device that instantly captivates her. Interestingly, Woody and Buzz are missing from the teaser, leaving fans intrigued.

Directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL-E, Finding Nemo) and co-directed by McKenna Harris, the film delves into the clash between traditional toys and the digital world. With Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and other original voices returning — alongside newcomers Anna Faris, Ernie Hudson, Conan O’Brien, and Greta Lee — Toy Story 5 promises nostalgia blended with timely themes.

Produced by Jessica Choi and executive-produced by Pete Docter, Toy Story 5 is slated for a worldwide release in June 2026.
