Tom Cruise Shares Thrilling 10,000-Foot Jump Stunt from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is back to doing what he does best—defying gravity. The 62-year-old action star has shared an adrenaline-pumping behind-the-scenes video from the set of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the eighth and final installment in the blockbuster franchise. The film is slated to hit theatres on May 23, 2025.

In the video, Cruise is seen rigorously training for a jaw-dropping stunt that involves jumping out of an airplane from 10,000 feet. The footage captures not just the execution, but also the meticulous planning, preparation, and safety protocols that went into the high-risk sequence.

“We’re going to go 10,000, but if we can get 12,000, we’ll go 20 knots forward,” Cruise says in the video, outlining his thought process. He explains how he builds up speed and simulates worst-case scenarios during training to sharpen his reflexes and ensure every stunt is recoverable. “I want to accelerate the next jump and do it as quickly as possible… go faster, faster, faster,” he adds.

The stunt was carefully choreographed, with Cruise explaining each step to the director and crew. When asked what the audience should experience on screen, he simply said, “We want to see me falling.”

Cruise captioned the video, “Survival is in the details,” underlining his commitment to pushing cinematic boundaries with authenticity and precision.
