Michael Jackson Biopic ‘Michael’ Set for April 2026 Release – A Grand Tribute to the King of Pop

After years of speculation, delays, and mounting anticipation, the much-awaited biopic Michael, based on the extraordinary life of pop legend Michael Jackson, is finally ready for its big-screen debut. The film is now scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on April 24, 2026, a shift from its previously planned October release.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael promises an intimate and dramatic retelling of the life, music, and influence of one of the most transformative figures in music history. In a deeply personal casting choice, Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s real-life nephew, takes on the iconic role, adding emotional weight and authenticity to the performance.

The production is helmed by Oscar-winning producer Graham King (The Departed), with an impressive ensemble cast bringing the people in Michael’s life to screen. Colman Domingo and Nia Long portray his parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, while Miles Teller plays John Branca, Michael’s longtime attorney and advisor. Larenz Tate appears as Motown founder Berry Gordy, and Laura Harrier portrays music executive Suzanne de Passe.

The film also features Kat Graham as Diana Ross, Jessica Sula as La Toya Jackson, Liv Symone as Gladys Knight, and Kendrick Sampson as legendary producer Quincy Jones, who began working with Michael when he was just 12. Other key portrayals include Kevin Shinick as Dick Clark and KeiLyn Durrel Jones as Bill Bray, Michael’s trusted head of security.

According to the official synopsis, Michael will chronicle the singer’s meteoric rise from child prodigy to global superstar, exploring his artistry, struggles, and the legacy he left behind.
