When two action icons meet together then it's obvious that you will get an ample number of jaw-dropping action sequences, some cool one-liners and loads of entertainment but with lack of story. But even the audience know what they are watching and it's guaranteed that they will get their money back.

David Leitch’s Hobbs and Shaw reunite Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) for a mission to rescue Deckard’s sister, Hattie (Vanessa Kirby). Hattie, a British intelligence agent, has injected herself with a deadly virus to prevent it from falling into the hands of cyber-genetically enhanced villain Brixton (Idris Elba). Brixton is working for the mysterious organization Etheon, whose leader remains unknown, it might be revealed in its next sequel.

As we know from the previous Fast and Furious franchise that these two are enemies and hate each other but this mission can be accomplished only by them according to the story.

And that's the highlight of the film the rant between the two actors. In once scene, the two hurl glorious insults at each other – Hobbs says something about Shaw’s Harry Potter accent and Shaw tells Hobbs that he sounds like a giant tattooed baby. These scenes are fun and entertaining to watch rest the action scenes take cares.

Most of the big star action films nowadays lack a well-written villain and Idris Elba as Brixton is the one. He is the henchman who takes orders from a secret boss. His character is half-baked and doesn't engage you with his performance.

You may differ but The Fast and the Furious films have been mostly about that one action scene which could make you go crazy in your seat. Whether Paul Walker would cut the corner in time or would Letty get hold of her subconscious before it gets too late. This time, the director David Leitch discards the idea of leading up to that one breaking point and lays his canvas evenly. You get to know more about the people behind tough exteriors and unbelievable muscles.

Hobbs and Shaw is basically a buddy cop film, so if it was a standalone film with different names it would have still worked.

There’s no compromise when it comes to the action, which remains top-notch and inventive. It includes an insane sprint down the facade of a building, the destruction of a derelict factory in which cars and bikes fly, and a heart-stopping climax that involves more cars, a chained helicopter, and further proof of Statham’s agelessness and Johnson’s mountain-like physique. And this is the key thing of Fast and Furious franchise which helps to forgive that in spite of less story we will get entertainment.
