Petta Movie Review: Baashha is Back!

After a lot of non-Rajini films, I am not mentioning about hits or pits of him but the stories which are not in sync with the image of him. True fans are finally able to see the Rajini whom everyone crave to see on screen. The story, dialogues and all other factors of Petta will make Rajini fans woo.

Kaali played by of course Rajinikanth joins as a warden to a hostel. Rajini shows his comic and jolly side in the first half as he romances Simram.

A fight to save Simran’s daughter headed by Micheal (Played by Booby) introduces him Singhar Singh (Played by Nawazuddin Siddique) and his son, Jithu (Played by Vijay Sethupathi). Singhar Singh is a politician in Uttar Pradesh. This is where the plot turn tables as Singhar singh and his son seek revenge on Kaali, but they are unaware of the past which forms the crux of the story.

Director Karthik Subbaraj, a huge fan of The Superstar himself, has made sure that his originality is maintained. It is not Karthik's usual flicks but he sets things straight for all the fans across the globe. Punchy dialogues is the key. Action sequences will take you back to 80’s and will make you whistle.

Like any other Rajini's movie we can see classic Rajini stunts even in this one. His hair flicking, Cigarette smoking wins hearts! All other cast members have also given full justice to the role. Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathi have given tremendous performance but it is Rajini who steals the show.

Cinematography feels colourful and fresh. Music by Anirudh is pacy but needs improvement. Songs are well written and choreographed. Narrative seems bit draggy but good enough to keep you entertained.

Overall Verdict:  The first half of the movie is average and second half is the same revenge plot which is draggy. The movie can be watched once as usual for any Rajinikanth Movies but this one will make you enjoy.
