Vijay's 'Varisu' is slated for a grand release on January 12, 2023

Vijay starrer 'Varisu', directed by Vamshi Paidipally is said to be an emotional family drama. Vijay plays a different character in this, while Rashmika Mandanna plays opposite him.
'Varisu' makers released the latest poster of the film yesterday (Nov 30) and confirmed that the film is slated for a grand release in Pongal. But the exact release date was missing in the poster. It is reported that 'Varisu' is releasing on January 12, 23 (12.01.23).
But the big puzzle among the fans is whether Ajith's 'Thunivu' also releases on the same date to make the box office clash more interesting or if the makers will opt for a day ahead. Fans are highly anticipating the clash of Vijay and Ajith's films at the box office after 8 years, and it's going to be a massive competition for sure. There is also heavy competition between 'Varisu' and 'Thunivu' makers on locking the theatres for their respective films, and both films are expected to occupy equal screens in Tamil Nadu.
The climax shooting of 'Varisu' is currently underway in Hyderabad, and the film is said to step into post-production from December 5. It is also said that the technical team will be going to Ladakh as the team has planned to shoot some montage scenes there.
