Shivarajkumar's highly anticipated film Bhairathi Ranagal has finally locked in a release date after several postponements.
Originally slated to release on August 15, the film's release was later hinted to be in September or October. However, the production team has now confirmed that the film will hit theaters on November 15. This decision comes in light of the packed release schedule in October, which includes major films like Dhruva Sarja’s Martin, Upendra’s UI, Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, Suriya’s Kanguva, and Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force.
Bhairathi Ranagal is directed by Narthan and produced by Geetha Shivarajkumar under the Geetha Pictures banner. The film is a prequel to the 2017 blockbuster Mufti, in which Shivarajkumar played a pivotal role alongside Srii Murali and Shanvi Srivastava. Mufti was a massive success and was later remade in Tamil as Pathu Thala, starring Silambarasan.
In Bhairathi Ranagal, Shivarajkumar will portray an advocate, a role that has piqued the interest of fans. The film features a stellar cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Bollywood actor Rahul Bose, and Avinash. Additionally, several actors from the original Mufti—such as Devaraj, Madhu Guruswamy, Chhaya Singh, and Babu Hirannaiah—will reprise their roles in this prequel. The cinematography is handled by Naveen Kumar, with a musical score by the acclaimed Ravi Basrur.
The announcement of the new release date was made at a special event held by the production house on Monday, building excitement for what is expected to be another impactful entry in Shivarajkumar's illustrious career.
